No New Posts Freeside

The closest town to Ain Soph Aur's hotel base, Freeside is a small, dusty little western style community smack dab in the middle of a dry, golden plain of grass. It consists of no more than ten or twelve buildings and a few small houses, everything built from wood and sheets of scrap metal. Self governed by the residents, Freeside is little more then a few small shops, doctor, and shacks gathered in a small area. Besides ASA and the few caravans that pass few, the town's main livelihood is farming. The few families who live here herd Tank Beetles and small livestock, and grow a few meager crops.

No New Posts Jack's Junkyard

A few miles away from Freeside lies an lake of junk and garbage, piled into small hills. A rusted, broken chain link fence gives the illusion of protection but really anyone can just walk into the yard and meander about. Named after a large, rabid, half-coyote hound that used to call the area home(who's pelt now hangs above the sign that marks the largest entrance), the junkyard is a treasure trove for those that are willing to brave the grime and jagged metal. Car and robotic parts pile high, and buried under the wreck more then a few people have found working things in good condition. The junk forms something of a labyrinth, and the more superstitious say that Jack's ghost; a massive spectral hound stalks the rows, waiting to devour unwary thieves. Before entering, it's customary to toss a bone or some meat over the fence, to placate the angry spirit.

No New Posts Ash Valley

A low, dark crater is all that remains of a once crowded town in lower Nevada. Considered the mass graveyard of the wastes, Ash Valley was nearly completely eradicated by a nuclear explosion during the war. Sloping down into the crater, the soil is pitch black in color, and every footstep kicks up dust filtered with radioactive particles. very few buildings remain, and those that do are little more then barren shells and ruins, crumbling with age. The valley's defining feature though are the people; or what used to be people. Petrified in time, the corpses humans burnt in the blast from over a hundred years ago stand like obsidian statues, frozen in their last actions. Many have been destroyed over the years but those that remain act as gruesome headstones; reminders where offerings of wine and flowers are laid by the religious and superstitious.

Board Description
Burning Steppes
Far away from Providence's shores, the steppe lands are a series of wide rolling hills and rocky plains. Short, brown grasses and dry shrubs cover the sandy dirt, and the small brittle trees offer little hope of shade. Towns are few and far between, connected only by a few dirt and broken asphalt roads. The dry grassland is all that some farmers have to graze their small herds, and coyotes and other predators stalk the hills, while herds of Tank Beetles and horses can occasionally be seen. In the intense heat of the day, water sources dry quickly and life is harsh and fleeting.
