No New Posts Amargosa Desert

Located between two mountain ranges, the Amargosa Desert has transformed from a vast, flat scrub brush desert, into a vibrant, green valley-plain twice as deceiving and twice as deadly the neighboring Death Valley. The attractive, luscious, low-growing plant life glows rainbow at night, pollinates with multi-colored poison spores, and oozes a silvery toxic pulp when plucked or damaged, all thanks to the seasonal black river flowing through the area. The brave enter the desert to gather the cacti used for Neuro-enhancers; the stupid are trying to escape the other radiated horrors of the area. Both are lured by the lack of animal activity and cozened by the marvelous display of color. The animals know better than to follow. The plants will try to eat you.

No New Posts Sundance Facility

Forgotten by time and buried under an ocean of sand, the Sundance Mall of Nevada was under construction just before the outbreak of the war. Half completed and stocked, the underground mall was covered beneath dunes of sand and lost until a local gang of bandits turned it into their base of operations. The only way in to Sundance are the massive blast doors that cover the entrance of a spacious concrete car park, where the gang stores most of it’s machines. Each member gets to pick their own store to outfit as their room, where trophies are shown off in display cases and leftover mall items have been turned into sort of an eclectic, lurid playground.

No New Posts Funeral Mountains

Running along the edge of the Armagosa Desert, the Funeral Mountains are a looming reminder of the death caused by the Global Armament War. Blackened and recently recovering from a radiation-infused forest fire, many consider the deep range haunted. Half-cremated bones of refugees can be found amid the charcoal and bright green, glowing seedlings just taking root. Rabid and radiated creatures, specifically the Puma Umbra, rove the range in search of burnt marrow, ruining a potentially inspiring scene and terrorizing anyone seeking to cross the California-Nevada border-- because a funeral march is the safest way to cross.

No New Posts Nellis Air Force Base

A welcome sight to those who were able to safely cross the Armagosa desert and Funeral Mountains, the home base on the Centurions offers the first glimpse of large scale civilization after the trek. Situated in a former military base, the Centurions have made their home in the center of the highest concentration of weapons and lost military tech in the Wasteland. This alone offers them sanctuary and a grudging respect and tolerance from Providence, and the ability to outfit their mercenaries. Founded and run by a man known only as The Director, the base is patrolled by the coalition and while they rarely house civilians, will help them cross into Vegas. Besides the weapon stores, the base is comprised of numerous barracks and converted training fields, as well as a small lab.

Board Information & Statistics

Board Description
California–Nevada Border
The lands between the two states were never truly hospitable, and they have only transformed from dry and arid to vibrant and teeming with life. From afar the rainbow of the Amargosa Desert stands in sheer contrast to the black of the Funeral Mountains. The area is largely uninhabited by humans, save for a small four-building shanty town made up almost entirely of centurions specializing in the retrieval of neuro-enhancers or the transport of people or goods across the borders. Hiring a local is highly recommended, though safe travel is not guaranteed. Until then, outsiders are required to camp out in the open as the tavern, general store, centurion barracks, and military checkpoint do not house visitors.
