Terminal Island Connected to the mainland by a long bridge, Terminal Island contains a number of noble owned factories and industrial areas. Many of Providence's civilians are employed to work here, and among the smog and factory fumes, many have little other choice then to live in the sanctioned apartments and tenement houses, sometimes many people to one flat. Between the dangerous factory conditions and number of still abandoned buildings, crime has become something of a problem here; gangs of unsupervised young roam the streets looking for distractions and trouble, and the residents general wariness of the PCPD makes it a challenge to police. The poorest of the poor in Providence congregate in shared housing here, and the older residents often become sick from the fumes or die quickly from work related injuries. |

Providence Underground Hidden away in the collapsed and blocked off sections of the city's subway system, the Underground is accessible only to those who know the few hidden entrances scattered around Providence. Founded by a small resistance movement within the city, the Underground has become a small city beneath a city. Complete with small tenements and a market, the Underground offers sanctuary to those persecuted by the surface; political prisoners, the sick, members of the resistance, and citizens unable to support themselves in Providence's competition. While Ain Soph Aur occasionally lends aid, the Underground is not as organised, and considers themselves a separate movement, and self policing. |

The Drowning City Cornered away in a collapsed part of the city, a small community thrives on water. Flooded with seawater, a few city blocks long ago sunk into the ocean and now serve as a slum town with a different way of life. Broken skyscrapers and buildings jut from the water, where people make homes in the drier parts of the ruin. Shacks on stilts were built onto the sides and stretch out into the water, covered in barnacles and ornate, always growing coral. The residents have adapted to life here, moving between buildings on handcrafted boats and rafts made from salvage; fishing and selling their catch and coral crafts to make a living. There's a certain superstition regarding the community, strange and separated as it is; that the people practice forms of witchcraft and are prone to thievery. The sunken city's geography makes it difficult for Providence to police and while it is still a monitored area, the law is more lax here then it is in the rest of the city. |
