No New Posts Pavilion

On the border between the desert and the plains lies Pavilion, a bustling little market town that has taken residence in what used to be a convent. Caravans and farmers come here when Vegas is too far a journey and some set up permanent shop. Colorful stalls dot the courtyard of the convent, and large swaths of cloth and rugs hung from the shop roofs protect patrons from the desert's harsh sun. The inside of the convent doubles as a small restaurant and inn, housing travelers and shopkeepers who come to visit the colorful bazaar. It's a good place to get information, and the number of people who pass by increases everyday.

No New Posts The Broken Road

The highways and roads that stretch from Providence to Vegas and beyond. Many sustained damage during the war, and after the years the asphalt has cracked and broken, bridges have gone out and entire stretches of road have been wiped out entirely or have been overtaken by desert. New routes have appeared over the years, and the roads closer to Providence have had work done to make them smoother and more manageable. These roads are the safest ways for caravans to travel, but even then some braver animals lurk on the outskirts waiting to pick off tired travelers, and highwaymen and bandits set up home in the decrepit gas stations and rest stops that got the road.

No New Posts Toxic Caverns

Hidden in the shadow of a canyon, the caverns were once a small mining operation before the war. Now many years later, the once narrow underground pathways have been hollowed out and expanded by the mega fauna and insects that inhabit the region. Stepping into the caverns is like stepping into a more alien world; glowing, florescent crystals grow out of the cave walls and ground like a fungus; twisted into more organic shapes as one descends further. The crystals have been used in tests for an alternative power source, but harvesting them is a dangerous activity. The air is toxic with spores and radioactive material, and carnivorous bats and giant centipedes crawl in the shadows. No one is quite sure just how far down the dark tunnels go, or what else lies beyond.

Board Description
Mojave Desert
Unlike the Armagosa Desert, the Mojave makes no illusion to what fate befalls those who wander into it's valleys. Buzzards and giant birds of prey the size of small cars hunt from rocky peaks and the shells of dead tank beetles pile up in mass graveyards among the sand. Sweeping valleys of golden sand shift with the wind like ocean waves, concealing sinkholes and pitfalls, and wild animals pick at those who stray too far from the roads. During the day the heat can become unbearable, and at night can drop to frigid temperatures. Very few towns crop up out here, and those that do are wary of strangers.
